Shelter Building Design’s website is looking better than ever, and so is their work.

Our co-founder Kirstie Wulf and the team at Shelter Building Design (SBD) recently launched an upgraded website, and it’s a great showcase of what’s possible when sustainable building design meets genuine craft.

The projects gallery is well worth a browse. From the carbon-negative Parramatta Hemp Home proving hempcrete works in suburban Sydney, to the bushfire-resilient builds at Kangaroo Valley and Malua Bay, to the off-grid Wingham Hemp Homestead on 18 hectares, the breadth of work speaks for itself.

The architectural photography throughout the site does real justice to the designs. Natural materials, considered spaces, and homes that genuinely respond to their environment, it’s the kind of portfolio that makes the case for hemp and natural building better than any spec sheet could.

A recent brand refresh has given SBD a great natural feel at the same time bringing colour which compliment the teams bright work shirts.

Kirstie is one of Australia’s most experienced building designers working with hempcrete and natural materials, and a valued collaborator here at Hemp Building Directory. If you’re exploring what’s possible with sustainable design, whether that’s hempcrete, straw bale, light earth, or bushfire-resistant builds, her work is a great place to start.
