Hempcrete – a sustainable building material | OzHemp | Supplier

Hempcrete, a sustainable building material, blends hemp hurds, lime, and water to form a durable, eco-friendly alternative to traditional concrete. Its lightweight nature offers excellent insulation properties, regulating temperature and moisture levels. Hempcrete is carbon-negative, absorbing CO2 during cultivation and construction. Its natural composition makes it resistant to pests and mold while promoting indoor air quality. Despite its lower compressive strength compared to concrete, hempcrete’s flexibility reduces the risk of structural damage in seismic events. As demand grows for sustainable construction solutions, hempcrete stands out for its versatility, longevity, and positive environmental impact.
