New Logo, New Look: A Fresh Chapter for the Hemp Building Directory

The Hemp Building Directory (HBD) has a neat new look.

After years of organic growth, community support, and evolving industry conversations, we’re excited to unveil a refreshed brand identity that better reflects who we are and where we’re going.

Our new logo and visual style mark more than just a facelift, they symbolise a step forward in our commitment to making sustainable building with hemp not just visible, but viable.

Why the Rebrand?

As the hemp building industry matures, so too must we. The original HBD identity was built quickly and served its purpose well: a functional, central directory for builders, suppliers, and curious minds. But HBD has grown into much more than a list. It’s a platform, a connector, and a voice in the conversation about building better.

We needed a visual identity that captured that spirit, grounded in sustainability, but looking ahead. Professional, but not corporate. Friendly, but still credible. So we set out to create something that felt fresh, purposeful, and instantly recognisable.

What’s Changed?

  • New Logo: Clean, strong, and organic — our new logo hints at building blocks and plant growth. It’s designed to work across digital and print, while staying grounded in the natural ethos of what we represent.
  • Updated Colours & Typography: Earthy tones meet modern functionality. We’ve shifted to a palette that reflects natural materials, paired with fonts that are easy to read, accessible, and contemporary.
  • A Unified Look Across Channels: From our website to social media, email footers to QR codes, we’re gradually rolling out the new look everywhere you find us.

Same Mission, Stronger Presence

At our core, we’re still HBD: a grassroots initiative dedicated to advancing the hemp building industry in Australia and beyond. Whether it’s connecting someone with a local builder, spotlighting hempcrete stays, or helping suppliers reach more customers, our mission hasn’t changed. But how we present ourselves has.

This rebrand is just one part of our ongoing evolution. We’re also working behind the scenes on new tools, better experiences, and deeper support for the people and projects that make hemp building real.

What’s Next?

You’ll start seeing our New Logo New Look HBD look roll out across all our platforms over the coming weeks. And as always, if you’ve got feedback or ideas, we’d love to hear from you.

As old logos resurface on videos and graphics, we’ll update them where possible, and enjoy a bit of nostalgia when we can’t.

Thank you for being part of this journey. Here’s to growing a better built environment together.
