Monthly Newsletter

By Jeremy Thomas

Hi reader,

This month reflects steady momentum across the hemp building sector, from practical design shifts to growing industry recognition and investment.

Our feature is Murray Industrial Hemp (MIH), who have secured $10 million in NSW Government funding to establish a hemp processing and manufacturing facility in Barham. It’s a strong signal that hemp building materials are moving closer to mainstream adoption, supported by real investment and growing confidence in the sector.

Envirotecture are rethinking office fitouts, showing how considered design can avoid the all-too-common cycle of demolition and landfill, and extend sustainability beyond new builds.

And HBD has been shortlisted for Hemp Product of the Year at the Cannabiz Awards 2026, highlighting the increasing visibility of hemp building within the broader industry.

We continue to support hemp building through the newsletter, the directory, and 1 on 1 chats. If you need specific info for your project go ahead and Book a Chat!

In this newsletter:

Thanks so much to all our subscriber members (thats you!) who take a moment to open our emails and click through to a few articles. Your involvement really helps us continue our work. And thanks so much to our contributing members.
I do a helluva lotta of unpaid mission driven work for the hemp building industry because I believe in it so much. But belief doesn't pay the bills. If just a few people reading now could contribute it would mean a lot to me. Contribute here. Thanks to Penny, Dennis and Toni who recently contributed.
