This month we're spotlighting some exciting developments across the hemp building community, from a fresh new look for a familiar name, to a major industry award entry and a home that rose from the ashes.
Our co-founder Kirstie Wulf and the team at Shelter Building Design have launched an upgraded website, showcasing their growing portfolio of sustainable design work across New South Wales. We're also welcoming the Tasmanian Hemp Association to the directory, Tasmania's peak body for the hemp industry, representing members across food, fibre and building materials.
For those who missed the iHemp NSW Hemp Building Expert Panel Webinar, we've put together a recap covering the practical insights shared by designers, manufacturers, builders and homeowners from across the sector. And on a milestone note, Hemp Building Directory has officially entered the Cannabiz Awards 2026, submitting for Hemp Product of the Year, Australia and New Zealand's premier recognition of excellence in the legal cannabis industry.
Finally, don't miss the story of the Hazo Hempcrete House in Hazelbrook, a cast-in-situ hempcrete home that earned a commendation at the BDAA National Awards and is opening its doors for Sustainable House Day 2026 on 17 May.
It’s been great continuing to support people through the newsletter, the directory, and 1 on 1 chats. If you want more info or have questions, go ahead and Book a Chat!

I do a helluva lotta of unpaid mission driven work for the hemp building industry because I believe in it so much. But belief doesn't pay the bills. So if just a few people reading this could contribute it would mean a lot to me. Contribute here. Thanks to Penny and Michel who recently contributed.
