Howdy there, my name’s Ricky.
I’ve spent the last 10 Years as a carpenter and (very nearly licensed) builder working on all manner of projects from off-grid cob cottages to multi-story Sydney homes.
I’m a generalist by nature always exploring new weird and wild building materials and methods. This is why I’m walking the path of a builder; so I can eventually bring the all these fantastic practices together under one roof!
Hemp-wise – I’ve acted as lead carpenter for 2 major hemp extensions in Sydney’s Inner-West (1 single story and 1 two story) plus a series of micro hemp buildings of a UTS research project. Before all of that I’d attended a fair few workshops up and down the East Coast. I’ve also recently begun as the Sydney based practical training workshop provider for the Australian Hemp Masonry Company.
Confidently experienced in; High-end Conventional Construction, Hemp Masonry, Passive House and Fine Woodworking.
Varying degrees of experience in; Natural Renders, Earth Floors, Straw Bale, Straw Panel, Rammed Earth, Earthships, Cob, Adobe, Earthbag (Super Adobe), Bamboo and Tree-houses.
