Hey everyone, I’m starting a hempcrete build on the 17th of February in Crescent Head, NSW. If anyone is interested to come and help out and get some hands on experience, it would be much appreciated. Private message me if interested.
Hello everyone. My small hempcrete build in the Bega Valley has just begun and is moving quickly already. The slab will be poured in 2–3 weeks. I have always wanted to use untreated pine for the timber frame (and the builder agrees) but the certifier won’t allow it. He says I must use treated pine (or a steel frame!!).
Has anybody had a similar experience and been able to persuade their certifier that untreated pine is safe to use. I will need to give him some authoritative references. I’ve copied relevant pages out of The Hempcrete Book by Stanwix and Sparrow, but am looking for more ammunition or ideas to respectfully present to him.
